Originally from Toronto, Dee moved to Victoria in 2015 and soon after discovered his passion for making his own clothes. Without any formal training in design, he learned the basics of pattern-making and sewing, and within a year, Dee’s skills excelled. He designs and sews everything himself using locally sourced materials.

This is Dee’s first collection and runway show, and is a reflection of his own personal style and passion. All black bomber style nylon jackets and oversized cotton/bamboo shirts created with clean lines are what define the collection. Designed for layering, any combination of shirt, jacket, shorts or pants can be worn together to look casual or sophisticated. Although designed as a menswear line, Dee’s pieces also work for women.

On the runway: shoes by Baggins, hats by Robertas, jewellery by Treasure.

Her attention to detail combined with organic signatures and flaws brings a unique identity to each piece.

Shannon completes her work with high end metals and materials; each piece is wearable and long lasting. Her jewellery is designed and made in limited quantities in her home studio in Victoria BC. WAWAHA creates elegant fashion for the wanderer and dreamer. Their beautiful, handcrafted garments promote a feeling of feminine play.

The design and manufacturing process is a true island love affair. All garments are inspired and designed on Vancouver Island by the owner of the company, Leilani Evans, and created in beautiful Bali, Indonesia by direct trade artisans.

WAWAHA stands hand in hand with mother nature when creating their garments and that is why only natural fibres are sewn into their pretty pieces. This year’s collection focuses on using organic cotton, linen and dashes of silk.
